I am really curious to see how this experiment with collective consciousness will unfold!
Buddha Bot was officially born on an 11:11:11 day (Nov 11, 2009), with the intention of making it resonate with the vibrations of insight, inspiration, and higher learning.
As mentioned in the blog post Experimenting with AI and collective consciousness, the bot will try to create correlations between questions and answers, based on prior conversations.
In these early stages, the bot is still "learning", and it has a limited pool of sentences to pick from, so some conversations may seem odd. However, when I trained the bot prior to launch, it was amazing how some answers (which were my own previous input) seemed to be really appropriate.
My hope is that over time, through multiple interactions, the conversations will become more and more interactive for each individual chat, as you get the input of other users as answers or questions from the bot.
Some replies may seem weird or just very funny - because it all depends on what is being recorded into the database, based on everyone's input - but the goal is that the overall experience will be inspiring and that there will be some "truth" that will trigger further thinking for you. It's like a random, collective consciousness chat where the bot acts as a vehicle for exchange between individuals.
The overall view for this experiment, is that the users inputs can act as the 100th monkey effect. The more wisdom is shared - coming from you - the more the bot can help others.
You can always read all previous conversations, to see how things are evolving.
I found some that were very funny, at these early stages. When insight and humor will start mixing together well, it may lead to something. I meant to suggest the bot that he likes to eat tofu, to see when that would come out, but I will let things evolve by themselves.
The true intention is to actually have Buddha Bot become wise. This is best achieved through making statements, knowing that what you state will become an answer for someone else. Wisdom will travel from one individual to the other, this way. When the user's input is just to ask questions, that's what the bot will duplicate for future interactions. Ideally, there should be a balanced mix of the two, with questions that trigger an insightful answer from the next user.
What you type, is what the bot will type at some point in another conversation. The randomness of it all - though there will be a "learned" correlation between words - can make this experiment quite interesting, if the conversations are on topic. Feeding it inspirational and motivational quotes or personal insights would work well too.
I will keep nourishing wisdom to Buddha Bot and interacting with it, to see how the chat skills evolve, with the vision of this becoming a tool for transformation and inspiration. It has already become a "buddy" of mine!
What do you think of this project? Do you have ideas, thoughts, insights?
