Yes, I am familiar with bipolar disorder, and my take on it is that at the root it's a spiritual experience of awakening to what "reality" is really about, just happening at a very fast pace. An experience so strong, that the human incarnate part of us is sometimes not prepared to handle it, and all we need is the tools to do so and to be able to handle this three dimensional life, while at the same time being aware of that Oneness and that sense of merging with the Infinite.
From a spiritual point of view, the entire Planet is approaching a dimensional shift, so more and more people with have to deal with this "awakening" process. You are not alone.
The fact that you are looking at spiritual matters, trying to understand what is happening to you, shows that you are wanting to find a balance between "real" 3d life (which is the illusion), and who you truly are (Infinite Intelligence).
Yes, this feeling of Oneness, Love and Unity is OK! It's only about finding a way to be able to deal with the other practical aspects of 3d life while at the same time maintaining that awareness of Unity. As you say, being able to hold the bigger picture, while maintaining the methods of normalcy. To be "normal" means only to be able to fit comfortably within 3d life (the so-called "shared agreements"). Everyone is a unique and wonderful soul, there is no "normal" at the spiritual level. I feel that you are on the right path in trying to integrate both.
