What are Dharma Ads?

Dharma Ads are a free ad and network feature, intended as Service to Others. It is a way for other bloggers, publishers, or small companies to showcase their website or product, without having to pay anything for it.

Why are you doing this?

When I sat through my first Vipassana Meditation course at the beautiful center in Shelburne, Massachusetts, USA, I liked very much the idea that all courses are free, to keep the teachings pure from commercialization. The center is run on a donation basis only, and the beauty lied in the fact that if one did not contribute a dime, the individual would be as loved as the one who donated a million.

I have always liked this principle, so I want to offer a free space on this website – as a donation – without asking anything in return. Buddha Trance is a labor of Love, with the goal to help and inspire other spiritual seekers on the path to Awakening.

What kind of sites can join?

Ideally, I would like to keep this as an open network operating on higher consciousness. Here are some general guidelines to better understand this service, so that the ads will resonate with the principles and nature of this website.

I will be happy to feature sites, articles, and products that will help all readers in their spiritual quest and well-being, such as:

- a site offering articles of a spiritual nature, meditation, holistic health, green living, higher consciousness, art, yoga and all topics that will interest and inspire an intelligent readership on a spiritual quest.

- events or groups that relate to the betterment of mankind in general.

- products that enhance the life of other beings, and that refrain from aggressive sales techniques. You truly believe that your product is helpful and are a person practicing good moral conduct in business. (There are several money making schemes even with “green” products, and those are not appropriate for this site.)

- your product is a labor of love, and it is offered with honesty and respect (meditation courses, soundtracks, essential oils, crystal healing tools, etc.).

- the services offered aim at the liberation and empowerment of the individual, are non-sectarian and respect Free-Will.

Please note that this is an honor based system. I will leave it to the conscience of the publisher and the discernment of the reader to make the best use out of it. I trust that the publishers have pure intentions, and that the readers will use their intuition.

How does this work?

I am using a great plugin, called Ad Buttons, to implement this free service, and I set it up so that 4 ads will show at any given time on the sidebar. When there are more than four ads in the queue, each ad will rotate with all the other ones and get equal exposure. Each slot will display an image sized 125 x 125 pixels, with a link to your page. There is no expiration date, unless the nature of the article/product/event is time-related.
