As discoveries in the world of quantum physics advance, we seem to expand our interpretation of what reality is about. I have been fascinated by the article The Universe as a Hologram. The opening up to the idea that the Universe may be an amazingly well constructed and detailed hologram, according to the article, starts with the 1982 discovery by physicist Alain Aspect that subatomic particles can instantaneously communicate with each other, regardless of the distance separating them. The attempt to explain this phenomenon, taking into account Einstein’s theory that no form of communication can travel faster than the speed of light, has led to the theory that instantaneous communication can happen, because there is only the illusion of separation, while the subatomic particles are just part of the same something. When everything is intricately interconnected, communication happens instantly.
A hologram is a flat surface that contains a three-dimensional image, created with a laser. The very interesting thing about the hologram is that, unlike a regular photograph, each section contains the entire image. No matter how many times you cut the holographic surface into, each piece will project the entire original image. All the information of the whole is within each part that composes it. The word hologram comes from the greek holo = whole, and gramma = letter, drawing, inscription.
In a holographic Universe, everything exists simultaneously. Past, present, and future, and every particle that has ever existed and will ever exist. Because every section of the hologram is a hologram in itself (containing the entire image), the superhologram (the Universe) is comprised of an infinite number of smaller holograms. Everything that makes up this Universe and our reality, including ourselves, is a hologram containing the information of the whole. Each organ and cell of our holographic body, is also a hologram, containing the information of the whole (DNA).
The very interesting thing mentioned by the article is that encoding and decoding frequencies is what a hologram does best. The image in the hologram is encoded on a flat surface, and it appears as a blur of lines, until another laser beam projects the image, decoding the lines. As human holograms, we also have encoded internal frequencies, and decode all external frequencies through our “senses”, thus experiencing the reality around us. We decode light frequencies, sound, all all other vibrations, that translate into what we see, hear, touch, smell, and taste. We can only interact with our “real” world through our senses. We need at the very least one to experience something. With no translation, we would just swim in the ocean of frequencies.
When we view the entire Universe as a superhologram, the reality that we experience is a giant projection (maya, illusion), streaming from Consciousness. All That Is, is all the information contained within the Universe. Likewise, our biological body is a projection of individual consciousness, a smaller hologram of the superhologram. As we decode frequencies and pick up specific channels to decode in the infinite stream, we experience what we call life. It is consciousness that projects the appearance of things.
Another experiment that led to similar conclusions about the Universe being a hologram, is that of GEO600, a device looking for gravitational waves, as described in the NewScientist article Our world may be a giant hologram. The concept is that every bit of information is recorded onto the surface, at the periphery of the infinite universal sphere, within which everything is projected. In other words, Consciousness surrounds manifestation, and manifestation is a projection of Consciousness.
If we are holograms, living within a superhologram, surrounded by Consciousness, the statement “As above, so below” makes complete sense. As smaller holograms, projecting our individual consciousness into reality, we understand how we can work at the level of consciousness to change the projection, including healing and shaping our own bodies. We can pick channels of frequencies to decode, selecting our life experiences. It’s consciousness focusing on a particular frequency, and projecting the image onto the real world… with the understanding that if our beliefs allow it, there is no limit to how we can play with the fabric of reality.

Hi Palma, I believe the holographic view of the universe is the one that will reflect the nature of existence. I recently wrote about an emerging branch of science called biocentrism that is putting consciousness as the prime source of the universe. in other words the universe exist because of consciousness. This follows the universal law that thought is cause. Its going to be very exciting as science starts to expand it view of reality. Science will have to recognize that our senses are not all there is to our existence. I believe they are getting there.
Hi Reginald, I will look at your article on biocentrism right away! It really seems that science is getting closer and closer to an accurate view of what we call ‘reality’. I think that when we start viewing it, and most importantly ourselves, as a holographic projection, it is easier to reconnect with the point of projection, our consciousness, because we can finally see the link between ‘here’ and ‘there’.
Truth of the matter is that energy which travels at or slower than the speed of light is physical or material energy and it’s measurable.
Energy which travels faster than the speed of light is subtle energy and it’s not measurable.
At the quantum level particles can become waves and turn back to particles, and particles at great distances can influence each other.
As humans we’re uniquely equipped to experience physical or subtle energy, and experience life at the particle or wave level.

Hi Pamir, superluminal speed does occur and science is getting closer to proving it. The good part about the limit of Einstein’s theory is that it made it possible to depict the Universe as a hologram.
As humans, we are definitely equipped to handle subtle energies. The physical and the metaphysical. After all, it is through the metaphysical, that we can experience the physical.

I love and do believe in the idea of “Universe as a Hologram”, i use the same in my Visualization, i use the Sub-Modalities like feel, touch, here and so on. Eventually, it turns out to be an holographic experience surrounded by consciousness.
This holographic experience give me the power to receive, what i want, even in my thoughts, and as “Like attracts like”, i get more of it. Its no different from inspired action to attract what you want.
Very true, accessing the energy grid from within the holographic experience, is no different than inspired action. Vibrational patterns are created either way.
This is a powerful way of approaching visualization techniques, by projecting consciousness deeper into the hologram and create from within it. Thanks for the insight!

Though there is an Universal definition of Consciousness, i am still curious to know how do you define Consciousness?
As per me, Consciousness is the your “every-moment-inner awareness”, awareness of your unique thoughts, memories, feelings, sensations, and environment. The more you are aware about things that you actually want, the more you attract them, and as Law of Attraction says, “Like Attracts Like”, you get more of your attraction.
Even, Quantum Physics has proven the “Observer’s Effect”, in other words, we create our own reality by observing the space around us.

Ankur, that is a great question that I would like to take a stab at answering. I would define consciousness as this:
I would define consciousness as the non-physical essence of our natural self. It is the part of us that is forever seeking, creating, learning and is eternal. The essence of who we believe we are as human is in reality housed within our consciousness which is outside of our physical body and multidimensional. Our consciousness is that part of THE ALL (God) that is inside of and permeates every part of creation. It is the image (imagination) of which we were created by THE ALL. It is the part of us like THE ALL (God).

I like the idea of the holographic universe; it fits the data. But the universe does its own projecting, and we aren’t the center of it. We can influence things, but on a similar scale to ourselves — and it’s still difficult to influence physical structures with metaphysical energies. Physical efforts make physical changes more easily, and metaphysical efforts affect those things that aren’t easily handled by physical means. It’s important to use the right tool for the job.

Hi Elizabeth – You raise both a good point and a mind boggling question! I agree that it can be difficult at times to influence physical structures with metaphysical energies. If I need to wash my dishes, I better roll up my sleeves, than trying to imagine clean plates with my mind.
In the short term, we are more effective by using similar tools. In the long term, we can influence the physical from the energy stand point in a much easier way. We are physical for a reason, so we should take advantage of our physical means. But we are also consciousness, and we can also use the powerful tool that is our Mind to mold the fabric of physical reality. We are energy, living in a world of energy. When the energy is dense and thick as in physical reality, it is slower to change from this perspective, but it’s energy nonetheless.
As far as us being the center of the Universe or not, that is a question that has kept many pondering throughout the ages! I will approach it in a future post.
Palma, I think it is important that we understand the meta (beyond) physics (physical) encompasses all things in the physical. When we can comprehend our world from what’s beyond the physical we can then be a more conscious creator for our physical world.
