When my sister started seeing a combination of numbers on her digital clock, mainly 11:11 and 1:11, with increasing frequency, she was in distress not knowing what it all meant. It was the mid-eighties, and no one around us thought that there was any particular meaning to it. When I happened to notice this too, occasionally, I thought it was because she had pointed it out to me. Years went by without me thinking about it anymore, then I started seeing it again, on my own. At that time, people from all over the world were experiencing the same synchronicity, it did not feel like an isolated occurrence anymore. A Google search on 11 11 phenomenon, 11:11, or 11 11 meaning, will show countless sites mentioning this, and people talking about it in forums. This occurrence is too widespread to be just a simple coincidence, and chances are that it has also happened to you.
Why is this happening on a global scale to so many people? What does 11:11, or the number 11 in general mean?
It is interesting to note that the Great Alignment of December 21, 2012 Winter Solstice – and the end of the Mayan Long Count cycle – will happen at exactly 11:11 a.m. Universal Time (you can check your corresponding local time here). Also, the date 12.21.2012 = 11.
The 11:11 phenomenon – as it is now called – seems to trigger encoded memories and it acts as a wake up call. While the sequence of 1 is the most specific, there is talk also about other combination of numbers or double digits, such as 2:22, 3:33 and so on, 10:10, 12:34, 12:12. etc.
The appearance of 11:11 is seen by many as an activation sequence. When we happen to notice it, there is a moment of opportunity to remember who we truly are. It is the bridge between duality and Oneness, triggering a remembrance at the cellular level that we are One. Eleven is the higher octave of the number two, where duality is transcended on a higher level of consciousness. We move from perceiving two (2/separation/Self and Others), to seeing All as aspects of the One (11/unity/Self and Other-Selves).

Physical reality is a consciousness program created by digital codes. Numbers, numeric codes, define our existence. Human DNA, our genetic memory, is encoded to be triggered by digital codes at specific times and frequencies. What is such a tragic event and loss of life triggering within us? Do we choose peace over war and destruction, and unity over separation and hatred?
Some say that this is the moment when our thoughts take shape and we manifest quicker. Another theory is that these occurrences are ways for Spirit Guardians, or Angels, to get in touch with us and who are ready to assist whoever will ask for their help. I share the view expressed in the article on 2012 Rising that this interpretation is not of great interest to most 2012 researchers. I believe that such a global mass phenomenon, as the 11:11 occurrence has become, is related to the Shift and the Awakening of mankind.

The reason why the Sun becomes important in the 11:11 subject is not simply the solstice point in our calendar. Most synchronistic is the fact that both 2012 and 11:11 are numerical metaphors for the end of one cycle and the beginning of the next. Could 21122012 be cosmic shareware with 11:11 the cosmic equivalent of “exe”?
11:11 also has another symbolic meaning – one involving a “cosmic portal.” I doubt that it is just an insignificant coincidence that during the aforementioned galactic alignment the Maya believed that a portal would materialize within the dark rift at the center of our galaxy.
Seeing 11:11 is a message to activate the light and awaken from this illusory reality, a reminder of a global event that will move human consciousness from third into fourth density (which could very well be the “exe”, on autorun after a cosmic download). A portal into a higher density will be opened.

Hmmm… wonder why this doesn’t happen with 12:57? Oh yeah… Because you’re not gonna remember every time you see 12:57, as it is an unusual number. Every single time you see 11:11, you’re gonna realize it, and it’s going to SEEM like you see it more frequently than anything else, when in reality you are seeing it at the exact same frequency as any other number. Hi Scott – I appreciate your thoughts about it. 12:57 would do just fine if it seen repeatedly enough to make you stop and think. Some online forum discussions are not just about 11:11, but other patterns as well (12:34, 5:55, etc.). The reason why 11:11 is more popular, is because it seems to be a global phenomenon (while the other patterns are an individual phenomenon). 11 is also a master number with a special numerological significance, and of course it has a connection with the winter solstice of 2012, happening at 11:11 a.m. UT.
I agree with you that generally when you are aware of something, you’ll notice it more. The question is, why is this particular pattern seen globally by so many people? Why has this phenomenon taken a planetary scale? Many of them not even knowing about 2012, and getting to know about it after noticing the pattern?

Hi Palma. Let me relate this experience that happened in the wee hours of December 11 for whatever it’s worth.
The day was dark and gloomy to begin with, and the night was cold and the wind was actually whistling. Still I felt a particular joyful energy and Oneness within myself. I can only describe it as magical. I chatted with my Girlfriend who lives an hour away, early in the evening. She has been telling me that she has been waking up at 3:33 am from time to time in the last few months. She does not actively pursue metaphysical information and could be considered a “layman” in matters of the 11:11 phenomenon. The last thing I said to her was,”Maybe I’ll visit you in your dreams tonight”, which she took as comedy. She is a Positive person of angelic proportions.
In the early morning my phone rang and woke me out of a very deep sleep. My girlfriend was calling and she was frantic. She had also called her son as well who is away at school and wanted to know if everybody was okay. I told I was okay and asked her why she was worried. She told me that she had awaken out of a deep sleep at 3:33 am. Only this time an electronic device had activated and her computer had come to life out of sleep at the same time.
I told her not to worry. The Infinite has only loving messages and signs for us. After she called I fell back to sleep in a few minutes with a smile. I was happy for her. The “Lords of Karma” are sublime expressions of the Creator’s Love.
Hi Marty – What a great story! I am sure that with your wise guidance, your girlfriend will read between the lines and get her message from the Universe. Her subconscious mind knows this already, it just need to be brought forth into her conscious awareness. The 333 sequence represents Trinity, the union with the divine essence. Any thoughts on ear tone rings? They last between 2 – 20 secs and can be in either ear. Mostly in my right ear. I have tried to think about what is happening around me when they appear but as yet can’t link them to anything.
Hi Bob – You are not alone, experiencing the ear tone rings. I have seen them discussed in forums as well. I hear them too, during the day like a ring tone, but at night also like a sudden sound which is hard to describe (almost like a metallic clap with a voice sound Ah! – they vary). For some reason, I associate the louder sounds with DNA and electrical rewiring of the body. The other ones may be subtler frequencies that we are now able to hear. Some say that they are an ascension symptom.

Hi Marc, I am glad that at least one sentence of the article was worth reading! I am aware that there are divergent views on the 2012 phenomenon, so disagreement is part of the game. Personally, I don’t see the anticipation of a Shift in consciousness as superstition. If this anticipation happened worldwide on a very large scale, the shift would take place regardless of “ancient prophecies”, just by the power of our thoughts. Consciousness influences matter. It is not me saying so, but the science of quantum physics. By anticipating the SOS, this is what we perpetuate. Humanity longs for a change.
If we end up waking up to the SOS, so be it. But at least I will know that I have done my part in helping to bring this change about. And the kind of change that many of us seekers anticipate, is along the lines of what the Buddha said. That is, kind, conducive to the good, the benefit, and the welfare of all.
